Premiership action returns to St Mary's Stadium this weekend as Southampton takes on Manchester United.

Both teams return to action looking to bounce back from successive Premier League defeats prior to the recent international break. 

Despite plenty of investment over the summer, Manchester United continue to look vulnerable under Erik Ten Haag with the Red Devils slumping to consecutive losses against Brighton (2:1) and Liverpool (0:3). 

While perhaps somewhat unfortunate to lose at the Seagulls, Ten Haag′s side were well beaten in their home defeat against their old rivals last time out. Defensive issues remain a big problem for the Red Devils, who have failed to keep a clean sheet in 12 of their last 15 EPL outings since the end of last season. 

Southampton come into this fixture still searching for their first points of the season. The Saints lost 1:0 in successive EPL matches against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest before a 3:1 road defeat at Brentford last time out. Russell Martin′s men did at least manage to claim a 5:3 League Cup win at Cardiff.

Despite scoring just one goal in three Premier League fixtures since their return to the top flight, I do expect the Saints to test the vulnerable United rearguard. Of course, the Saints are also likely to concede, so a play on BTTS should prove the best bet this weekend with the Red Devils not reliable enough to back in the WDW market.

BTTS is my only choice for what is likely to prove a competitive EPL affair on the south coast.
